Craig McMahon

An outrageously talented multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and award winning arranger, Craig was accepted into the RSAMD (now RCS) Junior Academy of Music at the tender age of 16 where he studied classical trombone for two years. It was here at the RSAMD and during senior years at school that he honed his skills on a multitude of instruments including piano, brass, guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, drums, and percussion – and as a composer.

 

From here Craig was accepted into the BA Applied music course at University of Strathclyde where he graduated with a first class degree honours and was awarded the Alexander Stone award for composition in 2014. Craig then furthered his studies at University of Strathclyde and graduated with a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education in 2015

 

Now extremely active in the Glasgow music scene Craig regularly performs with numerous bands in various styles; from indie, modern jazz, and big band concerts, to orchestral concerts and German Oompah bands.

 

Craig currently records, performs, tours and composes for Glasgow Indie-Muso’s ‘Pronto Mama’ and  with Jazz-fusion Juggernaut, ‘Fat-Suit’, playing synthesizer, trombone, percussion and vocals across both bands - and playing festivals T in the Park, Wickerman, Belladrum - collaborating with, and supporting, the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Babyshambles, The Fall, Jamie Cullum, Fatherson, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Hector Bizerk, Blood Relatives, and Angus Munro.
