Ross has always had a love for music; playing piano and trumpet from an early age until discovering drums at secondary school, which soon became his main focus. Ross was often heard before he was seen in the Duncanrig practice rooms and once had his drumsticks confiscated by the head of music, as she claimed they were “too loud!”

Being part of a successful band from the age of 12, Ross has gained a hands-on knowledge of the music industry. His band, The Detours, shot to fame after appearing on channel 4 and 4Music’s Orange Unsigned Act in 2008, and winning Live and Unsigned in 2009. They have since recorded in the renowned Longwave Studios in Cardiff, released music videos on Kerrang! and played at festivals around the country.
